OPTIMIZED HEALTH FOR SURVIVORS & THRIVERS
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy: Coming Soon
What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) ?
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy delivers oxygen at higher pressure to tissues in the body through a pressurized chamber. This therapy has been used for various medical conditions, including non-healing wounds, decompression sickness, and carbon monoxide poisoning, but there is developing interest and research in using this therapy for other indications.
How Does HBOT Work in Integrative Cancer Care?
HBOT increases the oxygen in cancer cells, which has the potential to accelerate
apoptosis (cell death) according to several studies.
HBOT is believed to have several potential benefits for cancer patients:
Enhanced Oxygenation : Oxygen is essential for the normal functioning of cells, and cancer cells often thrive in low-oxygen (hypoxic) environments. HBOT provides a surge of oxygen to tissues, potentially making it more challenging for cancer cells to survive and grow.
Supporting Conventional Treatments: HBOT can enhance the effectiveness of radiation therapy by increasing oxygen levels in the tumor area, making cancer cells more susceptible to radiation damage. It can also help with tissue repair after surgery.
Reducing Side Effects: Cancer treatments like radiation therapy and chemotherapy can cause tissue damage and inflammation. HBOT may help reduce these side effects and promote faster healing.
Strengthening the Immune System: Oxygen is essential for a robust immune system. HBOT may help boost immune function, which is crucial for cancer patients to fight off infections and support overall well-being.
What Type of Chamber Do We Use ?
At Vital You, we use a soft chamber:
- Soft chambers can only provide mild hyperbaric conditions, usually reaching pressures up to 1.3 atmospheres absolute (ATA). This pressure level is lower than what hard chambers can achieve.
- Soft chambers are often used for mild hyperbaric therapy and are suitable for less severe conditions, wellness, and general health benefits. They are not typically used for critical medical conditions that require high-pressure treatment.
- Soft chambers generally require less stringent medical supervision because they operate at lower pressures and are considered safer for home use. However, users should still follow safety guidelines and receive proper training.
WHAT MISTLETOE
THERAPY LOOKS LIKE
After a detailed patient evaluation and individualized treatment plan, it may be revealed that
mistletoe therapy is a viable solution for you. Treatment can begin as early as just after a diagnosis
or before a scheduled surgery. However, it can still be effective later in the process.

INFUSIONS vs. HOME INJECTIONS
Mistletoe therapy is a long-term path that is most effective when overseen by a qualified practitioner. The cornerstone of therapy is subcutaneous injections done at home. We will teach you how to do injections during your first appointment in the office. Most of our patients find this easy to do with our guidance and support. Infusions are recommended for some patients in addition to subcutaneous injections based on the type of cancer and its severity or progression. Our experienced infusion nurse prioritizes the safety and comfort of our patients throughout their experience with us
THERAPY DURATION
The duration of treatment depends on several factors,
including the type of cancer, its severity or progression, and
how well the body responds to mistletoe treatments.

Safety and Risks of HBOT in Cancer Care
While HBOT is generally considered safe when administered by trained healthcare professionals, it’s essential to discuss its potential risks and benefits with your healthcare team. Some potential risks include ear or sinus discomfort, changes in vision, and, rarely, lung collapse. Patients with certain medical conditions, such as certain types of lung disease, may not be suitable candidates for HBOT.
THE BENEFITS OF HELLEBORUS THERAPY
Helleborus Niger, or Christmas Rose, has been used in integrative cancer care since the early 1900s. It’s scope has expanded to encompass aggressive metastatic tumors and it can be used with Mistletoe or on it’s own/
